I was interested to work on these devices as displays stands or shop windows which are so common in our everyday’s experience in shop malls, boutiques or stores showing objects and goods. Rather to explore their relationship to the objects or aestheticise materials composing them I wanted to approach them as arrangements, visual layouts who play with the absence and becomes vision artifacts.
I tried then to separate them in different plans, to outstrip the wall, by using a carrying structure which creates a depth, and transparent or opaque surfaces which reflects and separate, converts what is behind in an optical image behind the glass. I use sometimes painting color on the wall, as a dissociated plan, industrial metallic shelves, as antropomorphic structure and metaphor of the stretcher (le tableau), and the acryl glass which create the surface plan and separates and cuts the depth of the set device.
